ASSEGAI RIVER SMALLSCALES
The Assegai River that flows past Piet Retief on its way to Swaziland and is becoming more and more known for its healthy population of Smallscale Yellowfish and the odd Largescale in between, most of the water is privately owned and therefore the yellows thrive in this semi protected system.
Over the years we have gotten to know the river quite well and have built a relationship with the private owners of the farms that the Assegai River flows through, allowing us to get you onto some of the most productive sections of the river.
All the sections of river that we have access to can be fished either using fly fishing methods or casting crankbaits on spinning gear. For more information on spinning for Smallscales on the Assegai River have a look at our Spin Fishing For Smallscales post.
